Privacy Policy

Version 1.0

What we collect

Account: your name, email address, and a securely hashed password (we never store the password itself).

Assessment: the answers you choose, your results, and which steps or results you save.

Consent: which policies you agreed to, their version, and when.

Preferences: your interface language.

Sign-in sessions: the IP address and browser type of each active session, for security.

Usage events: counts of steps such as "assessment started" or "result viewed", used to improve ELSE. These never include your answers, free text, or your email.

Why we use it

To run your account, show your results, and let you come back to them.

To understand, in aggregate, whether people find ELSE useful during this pilot.

We do not sell your data, show ads, or use your results to make automated decisions about you.

Where it is stored and who processes it

Data is stored on servers rented from Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany (EU).

If password-reset emails are enabled, the email address and reset link are sent through our email provider.

No other third parties receive your data. Usage events are stored in our own database, not in an external analytics tool.

How long we keep it

Until you delete your account. Deleting your account immediately removes your account, answers, results, consent records, and saved items.

Usage events are kept but disconnected from you, so they can no longer identify you.

Encrypted backups are kept for up to 7 days, so deleted data disappears from backups within that time.

Your rights

You can view your results at any time and delete everything with "Delete account and all data" on the "My results" page.

For a copy of your data, corrections, or any privacy question, contact [email protected].

Age

ELSE is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger.
